This collection of vessels was made from wild clay from the upstate New York region. After processing the clay using indigenous techniques, I was able to create forms on the wheel. With references to the human body such as the shoulders and necklines, these pieces represent by the way our bodies are changed, broken, and repaired over time. Several vessels cracked in the pit fire and were repaired with black velvety flocking, inspired by the art of kintsugi.
